Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 91,772 vehicles in November, 2011. This includes 8,902 units for export. Sales grew by 6 pc in the super-compact segment comprising of DZire and by 9.8pc in the mid-size segment (SX4). Total domestic sales for the month stood at 82870 units as compared to 102503 units in the corresponding period last year. Segment –wise, the mini segment comprising the M800, A-star, WagonR and Alto recorded 38,921 units in the month as compared to 53,489 units (-27.2pc). The compact segment comprising Swift, estilo and Ritz recorded 22,159 units as compared to 23014 units (-3.7pc). The utility segment also recorded negative growth. The Gypsy and Grand Vitara total sales stood at 180 (199) while the Omni and Eeco stood at 9612 units as compared to 14,686 units (-34.5pc). The company’s total exports too decreased by 11.4 pc from 10,051 units in November 2010 to 8,902 units last month.
